DrupalCamp Fox Valley Code of Conduct

Fox Valley Drupal takes the safety and security of our members and guests very seriously. All attendees, speakers, sponsors and volunteers at DrupalCamp Fox Valley are required to agree with the following code of conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event. Making all attendees feel welcome and included at DrupalCamp Fox Valley is everyone’s job--cooperation is expected from all participants.

What to Do

Groups such as this as well as Drupal itself would simply not exist without our community. We strive for all attendees to have an awesome experience whether in a formal conference session or attending any of the extracurricular activities associated with the event. Let's encourage diversity of ideas and expression in the community while also raising awareness of the potential for actions that could alienate valuable members of the community.

One of the greatest strengths of the Drupal community is our inclusiveness. Sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees, and other participants should strive to treat all people with dignity and respect, regardless of their culture, religion, physical appearance, disability, race, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation.

What to Avoid

Fox Valley Drupal will not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

Sponsors and other parties involved in the production of the event are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material. Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized environment.

If There's an Issue

Fox Valley Drupal wants everyone to feel safe while attending our events. If and when misunderstandings occur, we encourage people to work things out between themselves whenever possible. If people are unable to work out issues between themselves, they are encouraged to seek the advice of a mutually trusted third party or a designated community volunteer to help mediate.

If you feel threatened or violated please immediately notify a conference staff member. Conference staff will be happy to aid participants by contacting security or law enforcement, providing escorts, or otherwise assisting those experiencing harassment. Likewise, please immediately notify a staff member if you notice that someone else is being subjected to such behavior.

If an incident occurs, please do not hesitate to contact any of the the following individuals. These volunteers will be available throughout the event in case assistance or mediation is needed:

Will Long, DrupalCamp Fox Valley Chairman
Jason Bell, DrupalCamp Fox Valley Organizer
Beth Binkovitz, Community Representative
